This contemplative weekend invites deeper silence and centered living through the wisdom of three figures: Howard Thurman, Martin Luther King Jr.’s mentor; Evelyn Underhill, the British writer on mysticism; and Ram Dass, an Interspiritual teacher bridging Eastern wisdom and Western psychology.

Through Centering Prayer, we become aware of the emotional programs through which we seek happiness and belonging. While belonging is central to spiritual life, this workshop invites us—through silence, reflection, and contemplative journaling—to gently release attachments that inhibit grace and open us to God, freedom, and deeper relationship with all creation.

This Christian contemplative day explores the seven “I AM” sayings with a focus on Presence, belonging, and connection to God. We'll engage through guided reflection, chant, embodied awareness, and quiet prayer—listening for each phrase's living resonance in an unhurried, nurturing space.

Through reflection, dialogue, and practice, we will explore evolution as sacred story and ecological healing as spiritual conversion.
February 2027

Through gentle teaching, guided BioSpiritual Focusing exercises, and shared reflection, participants begin learning to listen to their body’s felt knowing, welcoming the gift of arising grace, and rediscovering themselves as interconnected, living cells within the Whole Body of Christ.

In this retreat, we explore eight Psalmic themes — Gratefulness, Praise, Lament, Supplication, Exaltation, Revelation, Comfort, and Encouragement— as Interspiritual pathways of insight, resilience, and healing through reflection and shared practice together.

This day offers a transformative exploration of the Christian contemplative and mystical tradition, guiding participants through the classic stages of the spiritual path—Purgative, Illuminative, and Unitive—and culminating in the profound realization of “No Self,” where all constructs of self dissolve and only God’s Presence remains.

This retreat offers two tracks simultaneously: intensive and post-intensive.

Beginning with an overview of Thomas Merton’s art we will move on to focus on his photographs and, drawing on his journals and late writings, we will reflect on how solitude, silence, and attention shaped his understanding of art and his way of seeing.
