JustFaith Movie Night: ‘Breaking Boundaries’

Taking momentum from the COP 26 Climate Summit and the recent promulgation of the Vatican’s Laudato Si platform, the JustFaith Environmental Concerns Committee will host a viewing of the 2021 Netflix documentary, Breaking Boundaries: The Science of Our Planet. The 75-minute film will be shown in the Holy Family main conference room and will be followed by discussion.
Featuring Sir David Attenborough and Professor Johan Rockstrom, Breaking Boundaries explores the science behind the devastating impact humanity has had on the Earth. The film details just how far we’ve pushed Earth beyond the boundaries that have kept our planet stable for millennia, and what steps need to be taken to turn things around.
The event is free and open to the public. We look forward to sharing this documentary with you and brainstorming suggestions for action to address our present-day climate emergency.

Formed in January 2015, the JustFaith group at Holy Family started with 15 individuals on a 27-week journey of study and discussion based on the JustFaith Ministries nationwide program, which is designed to gain an understanding of the root causes of many of our broken social systems in the US and abroad. Topics included poverty, racism, immigration and refugees, homelessness and more.
Since completing the program, the group has opened its arms to the broader faith community at Holy Family and volunteers in areas of poverty, racism, immigration, women’s mental health and prison reform. In addition to a variety of volunteer opportunities, the JustFaith group also hosts a variety of events throughout the year to raise public awareness about these issues.
