Annual Day of Reflection

- Christian Contemplative Experience -

June 9, 2018

9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Dr. Charlotte Tomaino

The focus of this day is to bring together and strengthen the area’s Christian Contemplative community at the Holy Family Retreat Center campus. This enriching day of Contemplative Retreat, Prayer, Teaching and Community promotes going deeper into Contemplative union with God and with one another.

Teilhard de Chardin has offered us a consciousness of physical matter being “divinized,” made sacred, which includes elevating the use of the matter of your brain. Physical matter is the furthest creation of formulated intention, focused attention and the directing of your energy. By using Fr. Thomas Keating’s definition of Centering Prayer as a contemplative practice, Dr. Tomaino will explore the physical healing, adaptation and growth in the nervous system that correspond to the experience of Centering Prayer.

Offering: $45, includes lunch.

Dr. Charlotte Tomaino

Dr. Charlotte Tomaino is a former Maryknoll Sister and a clinical neuropsychologist. Dr. Tomaino has spent over 35 years treating those recovering from traumatic brain injury. Her observations of the power of belief to access the benefits of neuroplasticity and heal injured brains lead to her book, Awakening the Brain: The Neuropsychology of Grace. Her intention in offering insights into the gifts of neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to adapt and grow) is to assist anyone interested in better knowing how they can expand both the elevated processing of their brain and access greater consciousness and sustaining life force within them.
