Song and Silence: Centering Prayer and Canto Divina Experience
Saturday, June 1, 2019
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Gunilla Norris and Frank Pendola
The ancient practice of chant has always been part of Christian worship. Just as in Lectio Divina and Visio Divina where sacred words and holy images help to bring us closer to contemplation so does song open the heart. It leads a way to deep prayer and silence. We will learn a few easy chants. Singing one before each Centering Prayer session we will move into a gathered stillness and into God’s Presence and Action in our lives. No musical experience is required. Participation in singing as well as the simple energy exercises offered is optional.
Offering: $65 (includes lunch)
