Day Retreat for Young Adults

Come join a vibrant group of young adults to prepare for our Lenten journey. Presenters will examine how we can bring our whole selves to the Christian journey. There will also be time for quiet reflection and discussion. Program includes dinner and celebration of the Eucharist.
This event is co-sponsored with the Archdiocese of Hartford’s Office for Catholic Social Justice Ministry and Office of Education, Evangelization and Catechesis.

Presenter Profiles

Colin Petramale
Colin Petramale is originally from Schenectady, NY, and completed a BA in Spanish at SUNY Oswego. In recent years, he has worked at Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly in Chicago. He completed an MA in Theological Studies at the University of Dayton, where he was also a campus minister for first-year students. Colin has a passion for making faith real for people of all ages and accessible to those around him. He believes that ministry invites us to be present to the unique story of each individual.

Liza Peters
Liza Peters has been the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at Holy Family since 2011. Prior to joining the retreat team, she spent four years as the Director of Religious Education at a parish in Dayton, Ohio. Liza also lived in community and worked at the St. Peter Claver Catholic Worker House in South Bend, IN. She has a B.A. in Psychology and a Master of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame. She lives in West Hartford with her husband and four children.

Patrick Laorden
Patrick Laorden works as a parish social ministry coordinator with the Office for Catholic Social Justice Ministry in the Archdiocese of Hartford. He assists parishes in strengthening social justice ministry through leadership development and skill building workshops. Patrick has been engaged in social justice efforts through his previous work with Catholic Relief Services, prison ministry, mission work, and serving on a social justice commission.
